Four pieces of integrator code that blocked the v19 upgrade
It is not uncommon for third-party Odoo integrators to leave custom code in a customer instance — sometimes to deliver a feature, sometimes to keep control. That code is rarely documented, often breaks on major version jumps, and can make a clean upgrade feel impossible without calling the same integrator again.
At Teatower, the live stack sat on Odoo v18 with unwanted customizations from a prior integrator. Those patches sat in the upgrade path and made moving to v19 far harder than a standard migration should be. Fabian was trained as Vilna Gaon's Odoo expert for day-to-day accounting — chart of accounts, journals, reconciliation, reporting for Warren — and was also put on integrator-code detection.
Result: Fabian identified and removed four distinct instances of custom code that did not belong in a maintainable Teatower instance. With those blockers gone, the upgrade path to v19 became an operational project again instead of a hostage situation.
